As the original pioneer of Fairtrade sugar and honey certification in North America, this year Wholesome Sweeteners has partnered with the Fair Trade Resource Network, Fair Trade Campaigns, Fairtrade America and Fair Trade Houston to help build awareness. The company has donated samples of its delicious Fairtrade, Organic sweeteners to these organizations for sampling events, bake-offs, and grass roots education events occurring around the country.
World Fair Trade Day is an annual day aimed to increase shoppers' awareness of how buying Fair Trade products improves the lives of farmers and their villages worldwide. Local organizations will create World Fair Trade Day events that feature Fair Trade products in tastings, cooking demonstrations, speeches, fashion shows and concerts. Wholesome Sweeteners is also launching a social media trivia contest from May 5-10 that will quiz fans on its Fairtrade products. Fans who enter the contest are playing for the chance to win one of six cash prizes.
