Women In the Hardware Industry Group Announces Show Events
ORLANDO, Fla., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Women In the Hardware Industry
(WIHI) association is planning several activities for members and
prospective members attending the National Hardware Show in Orlando, Fla.
May 8-10, 2007.
All WIHI events during the National Hardware Show will take place in
room S322, located in the South Building of the Orange County Convention
Center. WIHI will also have a lounge available for use by its members
during the National Hardware Show.
The WIHI Member Luncheon and Business meeting, open to members only, is
scheduled for May 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Claire-Juliette Beale, co-founder of the innovation and strategic
design firm Touch360, will address the group at the WIHI Experience
Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 9. The luncheon is free for WIHI
members and $10 for non-members.
Also on May 9, WIHI will host a Membership Drive and Cocktail Party
from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event is free for all. On May 11, snacks and
beverages will be available for WIHI members during the close of the show.
Pam Melton, president of Women In the Hardware Industry, said the
organization is reinventing itself to accommodate the changing environment
in the industry.
"The National Hardware Show offers WIHI the opportunity to network with
and expose the organization to women in the most diverse segments of the
industry," Melton said.
Founded in 1985, Women In the Hardware Industry:
* Foster professional advancement and leadership development of women in
the Hardware, Do-it-Yourself, Home Improvement industry.
* Provide educational programs, materials and opportunities for
professionals in the industry.
* Serve as advisors in the consumer do-it-yourself market and
professional contractor market on the role of women in the industry.
* Serve as advocates in optimizing the participation of women in all
facets of the markets that we serve.
