Workers Transition Network Announces Agreement with AIG Claim Services, Inc.; Innovative Return-to-Work Solutions Benefit Employees and Non-Profits

Jul 31, 2002, 01:00 ET from LewisCo Group

DEERFIELD, Ill., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Workers Transition Network, Inc.,
a member of the LewisCo Group, today announced an agreement with AIG Claim
Services, Inc. (AIGCS), a member company of American International Group, Inc.
(AIG), to facilitate early return-to-work solutions. AIGCS will initially
implement the WTN program in 14 states.
Workers Transition Network (WTN) is a specialty provider of re-employment
and return-to-work solutions in the workers' compensation marketplace,
providing services to carriers, third party administrators and self-insured
employers. WTN offers an innovative alternative to traditional vocational
rehabilitation, using funded employment at non-profit agencies to act as a
bridge to re-employment. This re-employment strategy can be applied to either
temporary placement for employers lacking modified duty capabilities, or to
permanent re-employment for those workers whose employers cannot provide
 adequate job accommodation.
"This agreement with WTN reinforces our commitment to provide innovative
services that help get complex claims resolved, assist in returning injured
workers back to productive employment, and reduce loss costs for our
customers," said Don Hurter, Vice President of AIGCS Medical Management
WTN's use of non-profit agencies for interim employment of disabled
workers allows injured workers to reestablish an earning capacity while
performing a real, meaningful job rather than make-work, restoring
self-confidence and turning the focus away from his or her own disability
toward an active work environment. Meaningful, funded interim employment and
intensive counseling by WTN's experienced vocational specialists accelerate
the resolution of difficult and often stagnant workers' compensation claims.
"We are very excited to be chosen to partner with an organization the
caliber of AIG Claim Services," said Richard Lewis, President of the LewisCo
Group. "With a concerted focus on finding interim work and permanent
re-employment based on injured workers' abilities and goals, WTN has been
highly successful in getting injured workers re-employed and, in the process,
 helping our clients resolve claims."
