World Leaders Travel Announces 2010 World Leaders Forum

The Much Too Promised Land: Israel & the Palestinian Authority

Exclusive travel event features former State Department Middle East advisor Aaron David Miller, ABC News veteran Sam Donaldson, Foreign Affairs editor James Hoge, and American foreign policy expert Walter Russell Mead

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Under the banner "Explore the world with the people who shape it," San Francisco-based World Leaders Travel today announced plans for its inaugural World Leaders Forum: The Much Too Promised Land, Israel & the Palestinian Authority, May 1-13, 2010, featuring Aaron David Miller and a team of Middle East experts.

"This program, like no other, is designed to provide an exclusive experience--an extraordinary journey into the world of one of the most important conflicts of our time," says Miller, who served six U.S. secretaries of state as an advisor on the Middle East, and is the author of the book, The Much Too Promised Land, America's Elusive Search for Arab-Israeli Peace.

Travelers will be based in Jerusalem and visit key sites in Tel Aviv, Haifa, the Sea of Galilee region, the Golan Heights, the Dead Sea, and the West Bank. Highlights of the 13-day program include customized excursions, private cultural events, behind-the-scenes access at historic sites, and opportunities to "gain firsthand experience and exposure to the ideas, leaders, and issues that both drive the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and shape a possible solution," says Miller.

Off-the-record discussions will enhance a compelling program of formal lectures and panel discussions, with valuable context and insight provided by ABC News veteran Sam Donaldson, Foreign Affairs editor James Hoge, and foreign policy expert Walter Russell Mead. Participants will engage with dozens of influential leaders, decision makers, and social critics from all corners of the conflict, including current and former prime ministers, Israeli and Palestinian politicians, international ambassadors, NGO officials, peace advocates, religious leaders, business executives, journalists, and scholars.

"Only through the direct experience of meeting Israelis and Palestinians, exploring the real estate they both claim, understanding the holy sites they are contesting, and listening to experts and opinion makers from both sides can you even begin to come to grips with the realities that shape their lives, their hopes, and their fears," says Miller.

This travel event is co-sponsored by the Commonwealth Club, Emory Alumni Association, Foreign Affairs magazine, The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and Yale Educational Travel. The event price is $11,990 per person, double occupancy. Optional travel extensions to Syria and Lebanon, and to Jordan, are also available.
