World Trade Centers Association Names Eric Dahl as CEO
NEW YORK, July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- World Trade Centers Association, Inc. (WTCA), an international trade association with member "World Trade Centers" around the world, has named Eric R. Dahl as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Dahl, with more than 30 years experience in developing, advising, and operating international companies, most recently served as Senior Executive Advisor with Booz & Company Middle East, based in Dubai, U.A.E.
Previously, Dahl was the founder and CEO of Limpopo, a Swedish consulting company, and was co-founder and managing director of Bain & Co. Nordic, based in Stockholm, which he helped build to a US$20 million operation with 100+ employees specializing in developing and implementing growth strategies for a broad spectrum of international businesses.
WTCA's Chairman, Ghazi Abu Nahl, said the association selected Dahl "based on his outstanding track record in developing successful business strategies, improving corporate governance and planning development projects for businesses involved in international trade, including major ports, industrial zones, shipping lines, and shipyards. We believe Eric will bring a fresh international business perspective that will ensure WTCA's continuing relevance in the ever changing world of international trade and project development."
Founded in 1970, World Trade Centers Association has grown from 15 original members to more than 320 members who are licensed by WTCA to operate "World Trade Center" branded facilities in nearly 100 countries, including the "World Trade Center" complex being rebuilt in lower Manhattan in New York.
Dahl, who holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, will assume his CEO responsibilities on July 30 at WTCA's headquarters in New York. He will become only the second person to serve at WTCA's helm. Guy Tozzoli, who worked with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in developing the original "World Trade Center" complex in Manhattan, was WTCA's only President/CEO until his recent retirement as President Emeritus.
"I look forward to this opportunity to work with WTCA and its global network of "World Trade Center" members to build a more dynamic, entrepreneurial association that promotes prosperity through international trade," said Dahl. "I see this as a chance to launch new initiatives, and build on what my predecessor – Mr. Tozzoli – has put in place."
