Wounded Warrior Project to Benefit from Governor Sarah Palin 'Going Rogue' Jacket Auction

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit, apolitical organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors, will receive proceeds from the auction of the now famous red jacket Governor Sarah Palin is wearing on the cover of her new book "Going Rogue." The jacket will be auctioned off through the Laura Ingraham show and website. Proceeds will also benefit The Fisher House.

Steven Nardizzi, executive director of Wounded Warrior Project stated, "Wounded Warrior Project was born out of, and continues to be sustained by, the spirit of compassion -- one wounded warrior helping another. We are thankful for that same compassionate spirit shared by Governor Palin and Laura Ingraham and for their generosity in making this gift possible."

Wounded Warrior Project provides programs and services to assist injured veterans during their recovery, rehabilitation and transition. Whether through combat stress programs, career counseling or advocacy initiatives, Wounded Warrior Project's vision is to help make this generation of wounded warriors the most successful and well-adjusted in our nation's history.

"It's a privilege to participate in the auction Laura Ingraham is organizing to help our men and women in uniform," said Governor Palin. "Laura asked if I would donate the jacket I wore on the cover of my book, "Going Rogue." I can't think of a better cause, and it's especially fitting because the book is dedicated to patriots and in particular to our women and men in uniform."

The auction begins today and will end on December 18, 2009 at 8:00am. The jacket for auction is a one-of-a-kind item. The winner of the jacket will also receive a copy of the book. Please visit: https://www.lauraingraham.com/auction?productID=22794.

"As the mother of a warrior herself we know that Governor Palin understands the sacrifices our service members and their families willingly make on our nation's behalf," Nardizzi said. "We are very happy to have her support in carrying out our vital mission."
