Zebra Imaging Unveils Breakthrough in Holographic Imagery with High Speed Color Imager

Automated machine produces full-color holograms, doubles resolution and cuts production time in half

LAS VEGAS, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- (Autodesk University) -- Zebra Imaging, Inc., the world's foremost provider of 3-D holographic display and visualization technologies, today announced the availability of a new generation of high-speed color and enhanced monochromatic imagers, allowing for the rapid production of digital holographic imagery at previously unattainable speeds and quality. Zebra Imaging's state-of-the-art imagers produce high-resolution, holographic images in less than two and a half hours, allowing the company to offer unprecedented turn-around time for its customers.

Zebra Imaging's 3-D holographic display systems are used for a variety of visualization applications for both government and commercial markets. The company's unique 3-D holographic technology provides a robust, cost-effective and accurately-detailed medium to present plans and designs in a true 360-degree viewpoint without requiring special goggles, glasses or other eyewear. Zebra Imaging's current images have been highly successful in the government and military markets, but as the company moves into commercial markets, including the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) industries, the color imager will prove to be a game changer.

"As we expand into new areas such as architecture, industrial design and media / entertainment, fast delivery of high-quality color images is critical for our customers," said Al Wargo, President and CEO, Zebra Imaging. "We have cut the production in half while doubling the resolution on both color and monochromatic holograms giving our industry partners a tremendous advantage over existing methods such as solid models or computer animations."

Patented technical advances in lasers, optics and computing were leveraged to create the new generation of imaging platforms which are used to produce Zebra Imaging's digital holographic images. A wide variety of data sources can be used for the creation of the images including CAD/CAE/CAM, aerial photos, radar and laser scans such as SAR and LIDAR. Zebra's holograms are portable and can be made either transparent or opaque and rigid or flexible through various lamination techniques. For viewing, the hologram is illuminated with a simple halogen or LED light source.

Zebra Imaging will display its technology this month at Autodesk University in Las Vegas and at the Intelligence Warfighting Summit in Tucson, Arizona. Both events will offer attendees a look at how leading architect firms, the U.S. government, and companies from around the world use the latest in 3-D holographic technology to increase the value of communication, facilitate collaboration and leverage a more realistic medium to tell a richer story.
