Zorya Fine Art Announces a Collaboration Between Brian Reyes and Oksana Mas
NEW YORK, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Zorya Fine Art brings together fashion designer Brian Reyes and acclaimed contemporary artist Oksana Mas, to collaborate on what will culminate as the Zorya print, to debut at the Brian Reyes Fall 2010 runway show this February at New York Fashion Week. Brian Reyes and Zorya Fine Art founder, Zorianna L. Altomaro, will curate the show, When Stars Align, at the Ukrainian Museum in New York. The show will present 20 paintings and 5 sculptures by the Ukrainian artist Oksana Mas. It debuts Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at an exclusive cocktail party from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
"I was very drawn to Oksana's work and ability to be inspired by various media, which I found to be very synergistic with my personal aesthetic. My own work often combines elements inspired by and derived from nature, landscapes and other sources, a sensibility I saw similarly reflected in Oksana's work," said Brian Reyes.
About the Designer:
As a child, Brian Reyes split his time between the picturesque Andes of Colombia and America, and he draws inspiration from Colombia's landscape and topography in his work. Reyes began his professional career at the age of 19 as an Assistant Designer for Ralph Lauren, later working with Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta. He launched his eponymous ready-to-wear label in 2006, at the age of 24, to widespread critical acclaim and extensive editorial coverage in the world's leading fashion magazines. Quickly becoming a Hollywood favorite, Brian has worked with actress clients such as Jennifer Garner, Cate Blanchett, Rachel Bilson, Kate Hudson, and Leighton Meester.
A distinctive aspect of the program of Zorya Fine Art is the presentation of emerging and established Ukrainian artists. Working with distinguished curators, art historians, and critics, Zorya Fine Art creates a context for the understanding and appreciation of these extraordinary artists, through historical and thematic exhibitions that bring to the forefront the significance and range of their work. The gallery's strong curatorial direction and focus on the art of Ukraine expand the borders of our knowledge of contemporary art.
