The  pavilions will house porcelain panels  providing an orientation to the memorial and mosaic maps that will honor the members of the U.S. armed forces who served in the Vietnam War.  The memorial was established by the American Battle Monuments Commission in 1966 to honor the sacrifices and achievements of American armed forces in the Pacific during World War II and the Korean War.
