Left untreated, over 80% of people with narcolepsy report that this sleep disorder has a severe impact on daily life. Even with proper treatment, the disease seriously affects the daily activities of many. Narcolepsy most often first appears between the ages of 11 and 17. These results highlight findings of a survey conducted by Unite Narcolepsy (www.unitenarcolepsy.org) to help the FDA understand how narcolepsy affects patients and the effectiveness of current therapies.
