2001 AACD Award for Outstanding Contribution to Life to Be Presented in Boston

    MADISON, Wis., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Academy of Cosmetic
 Dentistry (AACD) is proud to name Dr. William Michael Dorfman, DDS, as
 recipient of the 2001 AACD Award for Outstanding Contribution to Life.  This
 prestigious award recognizes the many outstanding achievements and
 contributions Dr. Dorfman has made to cosmetic dentistry and charitable causes
 for nearly two decades.
     The award will be presented to Dr. Dorfman at the President's Dinner Dance
 during the AACD's 17th Annual Scientific Session May 26, 2001 at the Boston
 Marriott Copley Place in Boston, Mass.
     Dr. Dorfman completed his undergraduate studies at the University of
 California - Los Angeles where he graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in
 Psychobiology.  He received his DDS at the University of Pacific School of
 Dentistry.  After a two-year residency in Switzerland where he provided dental
 care to the impoverished, he opened his own general and cosmetic dental
 practice in Los Angeles.  In 1990, Dr. Dorfman wrote one of the most popular
 books in cosmetic dentistry, The Smile Guide, which received a first place
 award from the Health Sciences Communication Association in 1991.  Dr. Dorfman
 is also the founder of PAC~live (Pacific Aesthetic Continuum).  It is a
 leading live patient continuing education course for dentists at the
 University of the Pacific Dental School.
     After developing a world-leading dental product company, Discus Dental,
 and countless dental products including the leading teeth whitening system,
 Nite White, Dr. Dorfman set his sites on helping people in ways other then
 just dental care.  Dr. Dorfman has lead his company and a nationwide group of
