3Dlabs is supplying the GLINT R4 processor to Pinnacle as part of its
newly established Embedded Graphics Program that promotes advanced graphics
chips and IP into a wide variety of embedded and appliance markets to
complement 3Dlabs' PC-based business. This new design win continues an
ongoing relationship between the two companies as Pinnacle has selected 3Dlabs
graphics processors for several generations of high-end broadcast products.
FXDeko II can simultaneously move dozens of layers of text, logos and
textures, all in real-time. Each layer can be moved independently through 3D
transformation or manipulated with OpenGL(R)-based effects, at the exacting
levels of quality required of high-end broadcast equipment and with double the
number of polygons of previous products.
"3Dlabs is an ideal supplier of advanced graphics technology for us as not
only do their chips have outstanding performance, they also provide the
professional levels of quality and functionality we need for our most
demanding top-of-the-line products," stated Jim Karpe, director of product
marketing for Pinnacle Systems. "We are pleased to work with 3Dlabs through
their Embedded Graphics Program to bring the benefits of the latest
state-of-the-art graphics silicon to our customers."
"3Dlabs' Embedded Graphics Program is designed to make our advanced
graphics processor technology available to companies with demanding graphics
design challenges," said Neil Trevett, senior vice president at 3Dlabs. "It
is very satisfying to see Pinnacle use their outstanding systems expertise to
leverage the raw power of the GLINT R4 to deliver outstanding 2D and 3D
performance, quality and functionality to their customers,"
