$5 Million Countryview Housing Rehab Set By Volunteers of America National Services

    ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Volunteers of America National
 Services today announced a $5 million rehabilitation project for the
 Countryview I and II apartment community in Benton Harbor, Mich.  The project
 team includes the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and Volunteers
 of America Michigan.
     The Countryview complex, 198 units built in the 1970s, will undergo a
 major renovation at a about $27,000 per unit.  The apartment complex was
 acquired in December 1999 by Volunteers of America and has received low-income
 housing tax credits and HOME funds from the Michigan State Housing Authority.
 Plans call for the project to be completed in December 2001.
