HEALDSBURG, Calif., Nov. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rosenblum Cellars, the "original urban winery" and Zinfandel pioneer has returned to Sonoma County, with a dynamic new wine tasting lounge on the square at 18 Matheson Street, Healdsburg, CA.

The new facility offers a primary tasting room, an event and educational space, a lounge for locals and club members, and an outdoor patio.  The Tasting Lounge will provide wine flight tastings, wine based cocktails, "Bites & Flights", Zinfandel ice cream, wines by the glass, and non-alcoholic beverages for designated drivers.  A calendar of educational offerings will provide a forum for local growers, food and wine pairing seminars, seminars with local artists and artisanal food producers.

"It's great to be back on the square!" says Winemaker John Kane. "There's a buzz on the street and the locals are such wine enthusiasts.  So many of the Rosenblum grape growers hail from Sonoma County, it really does feel like a homecoming of sorts."

Founded in 1978 in Alameda, with a dockyard winery and tasting room, for many years Rosenblum Cellars maintained two visitors' centers - the original Alameda location, and a Rosenblum "North" location on the square in Healdsburg.  Closed in 2008, the Healdsburg location was greatly missed by the North Bay Rosenblum fans and after a hiatus of 5 years, Rosenblum is now enjoying a Healdsburg homecoming.  The founding location in Alameda remains open and a popular destination with East Bay wine tasters and day trips on the ferry from San Francisco.

With a focus on the Zinfandel varietal and a smaller production of Rhone style wines, Rosenblum Cellars prides itself on excellent grower relations, partnering with more than 50 grape growers in premium viticultural regions around California. Over the years, the wines have garnered rave reviews from critics, and the influential Wine Spectator has called Rosenblum Cellars "a mecca for Zin-Fanatics".

Located just a short car or ferry ride from San Francisco, the bay-view, dockside visitors center allows visitors to sample a wide portfolio of award-winning wines.
