ACS Announces Additional ISO 9000 Certifications Within the Government Services Group

Apr 18, 2001, 01:00 ET from ACS, Inc.

DALLAS, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- ACS (NYSE: ACS), a leading provider of
information technology solutions and business process outsourcing solutions,
today announced that three additional facilities operated by its Government
Services Group have been recommended for certification under the International
Standards Organization (ISO) 9002 Standard of 1994 for Quality Management
 Systems (QMS).
An independent ISO 9000 registrar, Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance
(LRQA), Ltd., has recommended these certifications. The locations include
Seabrook, Maryland, as well as ACS' NASA Glenn Research Center Program and
ACS' IntelliCenter operations, both located in Brook Park, Ohio. These
additions bring the ISO 9000 certification to a total of four ACS locations.
"We are all very proud of these additional certifications, because ACS'
business success is based on quality service," says Harvey Braswell, President
of ACS' Government Services. "Our customers have ranked us above the
competition in recent industry-wide quality surveys and independent
certification tells us that we're doing things right. Several more projects
are currently in the QMS implementation process, and we plan to seek
certification for more programs over time."
LRQA, Ltd. made the recommendations based on audits performed at each of
the locations during the first two weeks of March 2001. The QMS focuses on
policy, objectives, upper-level procedures and project/program descriptions
that facilitate quality in products and services provided to its customers.
