Advantage Learning Systems Changes Name to Renaissance Learning, Inc.; New Stock Trading Symbol RLRN

     Renaissance Learning, Inc. (Nasdaq: RLRN), formerly
 Advantage Learning Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALSI) has legally changed its name
 to Renaissance Learning, Inc., after having received shareholder approval to
 do so at the Company's annual meeting of shareholders held this week.  The
 Company's stock trading symbol on The Nasdaq Stock Market is expected to
 change beginning with trading on Friday April 20, 2001 to RLRN to reflect the
 legal name change.

 last fall.  The name change is designed to bring all the Company's products
 and services under a single brand umbrella and to emphasize the Company's
