Aetna to Grey Worldwide New York

Apr 26, 2001, 01:00 ET from Grey Global Group Inc.

NEW YORK, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Grey Worldwide/New York announced today
that Aetna, the nation's largest health care company, has selected the agency
to handle creative duties for its advertising account. Annual billings were
not disclosed. Previously, Aetna's advertising was handled by McKinney &
Silver of Raleigh, North Carolina and Waylon Ad of St. Louis. The
announcement was made by Steve Blamer, President of Grey Worldwide New York.
For the review, Grey developed a strategic and creative recommendation to
reposition Aetna in the increasingly competitive health care arena. Last
year, Aetna divested its financial services business to focus solely on health
care and hired Dr. John Rowe, a prominent physician and health care executive,
to lead the company. The advertising is expected to break in the Fall of
 2001.
Sal Uglietta, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Aetna said of the
assignment, "We chose Grey because of their capabilities to develop
breakthrough creative; it was clear that they understood our very complex
category. With all of the major changes we are making as we focus our
attention exclusively on the health business, we're convinced that the Grey
 team will make terrific partners."
Steve Blamer, noted that "We're proud to have been selected by Aetna at
this exciting time for the company. This is a challenging time to build trust
with consumers in this category, but with all the positive changes at Aetna,
we feel we have a story to tell which can clearly and persuasively set the
 company apart from its competitors."

Grey Worldwide New York, a partner company of
Grey Global Group (Nasdaq: GREY), is the largest agency in the Grey Worldwide
network and represents approximately 40% of the network's total billings.
