Aftermarket Technology Corp. Awarded First-Of-A-Kind Contract With Ford Motor Company

    WESTMONT, Ill., April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Aftermarket Technology Corp.
 (Nasdaq:   ATAC), today announced that its Logistics business has been awarded a
 core management contract with Ford Motor Company.  Under the terms of the
 multi-year agreement, ATC Logistics will serve as Ford's National Core Return
 Service Center.  ATC Logistics' Oklahoma City-based Material Recovery business
 unit will assist Ford's industry-leading drive toward enhanced customer
 service and environmental conscientiousness by consolidating Ford's"" used or
 excess product ("core") and shipping it to Ford authorized remanufacturers.
 Cores will include transmissions, engines, rotating electrics, and electronic
 control modules from dealers as well as from manufacturing and assembly
 plants.
     ATC Logistics has developed automotive industry specific software, an
 Internet-enabled interactive system, www.CoreBloc.com , that allows Ford to
 track the availability, condition and value of core, and to produce dealer
 credits and facilitate logistics.  Additionally, this tool will enable Ford,
 and its dealers and vendors to track product on a real time basis as well as
 provide system-wide inventory management, cross-docking and product
 redistribution capabilities.
     During the first nine months of the contract, ATC Logistics will accept
 cores from over 200 Ford Authorized Distributors with a subsequent ramp-up to
 accept a broader array of products on a national basis from a wider range of
 sources.
