joint research and development agreement with Madico, Inc., a leader in the
development and manufacturing of precision metalized, coated, and laminated

The agreement positions AgION Technologies and Madico, Inc. to address
the growing need for products that possess an antimicrobial property and that
can be applied to both newly manufactured and in-service products. Both
companies perceive applications for antimicrobial films for surfaces in the
food processing and service industries, mass transportation and healthcare
environments. Under the development agreement, the AgION(TM) Antimicrobial
Compound will be incorporated into Madico's coatings, which are then applied
to the surface of the films to suppress destructive bacterial growth. As a
preservative, AgION(TM) Antimicrobial Compound provides sustained protection
during the use of the film.
"We are very pleased to be working with an innovative company such as
Madico, Inc.," said Roger Freeman, CEO, AgION Technologies. "This product is
one of many that we anticipate introducing in 2001 together with our partners,
that will directly address the need for antimicrobial product protection
within a wide range of industries."
"As a company with a history of innovative firsts, we are very excited
about our joint development activity with AgION Technologies," said Bill
Kelleway, Director, New Business Development, Madico, Inc. "This will enable
us to combine our expertise in overlaminate and anti-graffiti products with
AgION Technologies' antimicrobial compound. Activities such as this are an
excellent fit into our strategy of developing high, value-added products for
 key markets."
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) listed the AgION(TM) Antimicrobial
Compound in the Inventory of Effective Premarket Notifications of Food Contact
Substances. AgION(TM) Technology is safe in all food contact materials and
the AgION Antimicrobial Compound is an EPA registered pesticidal product.
