Ai Metrix Delivers Next-Generation NeuralStar(R) 5

Advanced Version of Network Management Framework Raises the Bar

Apr 13, 2001, 01:00 ET from Ai Metrix, Inc.

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Ai Metrix, Inc., the
technology leader in network management software, today announced the latest
release of their NeuralStar framework. NeuralStar 5 represents the culmination
of Ai Metrix's extensive OSS experience in managing some of the largest and
most advanced broadband networks in the world.
"We've distilled broadband network management down to its essence," said
Pete Oliver, Ai Metrix President and CEO. "After solving the same problems
over and over, our NeuralStar technology has evolved into a framework that
provides distinct advantages over multiple EMS-based systems."
The demand for broadband remains robust, despite current market chaos, and
Ai Metrix is well positioned to take advantage of global growth. The Ai Metrix
NeuralStar suite of products manages such broadband networks as cable modems,
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and optical transport. According to market
research firm RHK, subscribers for both cable modems and DSL will each grow to
over 18 million by 2004. The global optical transport market will grow from
$42 billion in 2000, to over $111 billion in 2004.
NeuralStar 5 is designed to manage any combination of heterogeneous
network elements. This provides an enormous advantage over element management
systems that are only designed to work with one vendor's equipment, typically
not integrated. Element management systems tend to limit the available
services on a network to a lowest common denominator. NeuralStar 5 provides
carriers with the ability to create unique and differentiated services.
The NeuralStar 5 release includes advanced XML technology that provides
industry standard system integration capability. "NeuralStar 5 is designed to
bridge the gap between existing back-office systems and heterogeneous
broadband networks. XML is the universally accepted standard for system
integration today. We embraced XML in early 1999 and believe that we are way
ahead of the pack in the OSS space," said Oliver.
     NeuralStar 5 is immediately available.
