LANHAM, Md., April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- On
Thursday, May 3, 2001, the first ever TEAMS Competition Day will be held at
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. a.i. solutions is serving as co-sponsor
of the event with NASA and Goddard's Distributed Spacecraft Technology
Development Program, and The Odyssey School in Baltimore City.
The TEAMS Program (Technology Education Alliance with Middle Schools) is
designed to show middle school students how teaming enables them to solve
technology problems that could not be solved individually. By introducing the
students to the development of distributed spacecraft technology by NASA, they
see first hand how teams of engineers are developing spacecraft systems to do
 things once considered impossible.
Students from Baltimore and Prince George's counties have spent the past
six months designing, developing and testing small robotic squads that will
compete in a soccer tournament. The team with the best overall record during
the competition will be declared the winner. These same teams competed
earlier on designing the TEAMS Program logo, which was won by the Valley
 Academy, located in Towson, MD.
"This program presents a wonderful opportunity to get young people excited
not only about science and technology, but about space as well," said Bob
Sperling, President of a.i. solutions. "We are proud to be a co-sponsor of
the event with NASA Goddard, and wish each of the teams good luck on
 Competition Day."
