    NEW YORK, April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan North America, Inc. today
 revealed a revolutionary new sedan -- the 2002 Nissan Altima.  The Altima is
 scheduled to go on sale in the United States and Canada in September 2001 as a
 2002 model.

      The all-new, third generation Altima sedan is a radical departure from
 the previous model, with a much larger, avant-garde styled exterior, a choice
 of powerful 4- and 6-cylinder engines, completely new, cockpit-style interior
 and a new, performance-tuned suspension with available 16- or 17-inch wheels
 and tires.
     The Altima introduction comes at a time of tremendous momentum for Nissan.
 Nissan Motor Company completed its first full fiscal year under the Nissan
 Revival Plan (NRP) on March 31, 2001.  The NRP has begun with a strong and
 swift start, moving faster, reaching deeper and delivering results higher than
