Fares as Low as $129 Each Way Between Select Cities

    PHOENIX, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Travelers who are dreaming of a warm
 coastal getaway should take advantage of some special Internet fares being
 offered this week at www.americawest.com.  America West (NYSE:   AWA) is
 extending its Internet fare sale with flights as low as $129 roundtrip between
 select U.S. cities and Acapulco, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo and Manzanillo, Mexico.
 In addition to the great low fares, America West is also offering one free
 stopover in Phoenix in each direction.
     Customers can take advantage of these bargains by purchasing roundtrip
 tickets at www.americawest.com from now through April 8, 2001, for travel
 through May 27, 2001.  Sample fare does not include Passenger Facility Charges
 of up to $20 per person, Federal International Air Transportation Tax of
 $12.80 each way, foreign departure tax, customs and immigration fees, airport
 improvement and health inspection fees of up to $45.  Federal Excise Taxes of
 $2.75 per segment.  A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing.  A
 one-night minimum stay is required.  The maximum stay is 30 days.  Flights may
 be operated by America West Airlines or America West Express, which is
