MINNEAPOLIS, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- American Express Retirement Services
has launched an Internet promotion to encourage participants in American
Express-serviced 401(k) and other defined contribution plans to register and
use the Web for account access and information. Participants who log on to
 their password-protected retirement account at
http://www.americanexpress.com/retirement between May 1 and June 30 will be
entered in a drawing to win one of three Palm(TM) Vx handheld computers.
While logging on, participants can review their account and take advantage
of the interactive retirement planning tools available on the American Express
Web site. These tools include features to help participants calculate what
they need for retirement, determine their risk profile and net worth, measure
tax savings in each paycheck, and set investment and retirement goals.
"While we know that many people are already reaping the benefits of our
online capabilities, it never hurts to offer a little excitement to draw
others in," said Sharon Solfest, director of E-commerce for American Express
Retirement Services. "In doing so, we think new users will soon discover the
powerful tools and information they can harness to help them master their
 financial future."
Winners of the three Palm(TM) Vx handheld computers will be randomly
chosen and notified approximately one month after the promotion ends.
