American Healthways Announces Agreement with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri for Diabetes Disease Management Services

 American Healthways, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMHC) has signed a three-year contract to
 provide its diabetes healthways(SM) comprehensive care and disease management
 program to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri, Thomas G. Cigarran,
 chairman and chief executive officer of American Healthways, Inc., announced
 today.  Based in St. Louis, Mo., Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri serves
 more than 440,000 individuals through its BlueCHOICE Health Maintenance
 Organization (HMO) and Alliance Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans;
 approximately 9,000 of those members have diabetes.  Program services are
 expected to begin August 1.
