Quiznos Toasty Toasty Campaign Fills Workplace 'Perk Gap' and Celebrates Today's Worker

DENVER, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- There's a "perk gap" in American business, according to a new survey* released today by Quiznos. In fact seven in 10 workers surveyed confirmed their workplace perks had been taken away during the current recession, with six in 10 indicating that a paid vacation day is the compensation they'd most like to have in return for lost perks.

Quiznos, pioneer of the toasted sandwich and one of the nation's premier restaurant chains for sandwiches, salads and soups, released the perk gap survey to coincide with a new Quiznos promotion called Toasty Toasty. Through the Toasty Toasty promotion, customers can buy one of Quiznos' most popular sandwiches for themselves at full price and only pay $1 for a sub for a co-worker, a friend who was recently laid off, themselves or someone else they think should experience Quiznos toasty goodness. Customers can choose from one of four popular subs and get a second sandwich of the same size and recipe - small, medium or large - for $1. The promotion includes these Quiznos favorites: the Classic Italian, Turkey Ranch & Swiss, Mesquite Chicken and the Traditional.

"Quiznos feels the pain of today's worker and wants to play a part in easing it," said Trey Hall, Quiznos Chief Marketing Officer. "We're living in difficult times and have seen so many organizations freeze salaries, do away with bonuses and eliminate such perks as on-site gyms, child care reimbursement and holiday parties. While we can't affect what workplaces do, we can help the average worker do more with less."

Other key Quiznos survey findings include:

  • Close to 56 percent of workers would give their paid day off to a co-worker who was recently laid-off or an employee with whom they work closely.
  • Only 13.5 percent feel very appreciated by their company/organization during these trying times.

The Toasty Toasty campaign will look to make more of today's workforce feel very appreciated and provide a new perk to their workday. Available at participating stores, the Toasty Toasty promotion begins today and runs for a limited time.
