Company Announces Clients Around the World and New Products

For Broadcasters, Entry-Level Producers

Apr 23, 2001, 01:00 ET from Anystream, Inc.

    LAS VEGAS, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- From
 Switzerland to San Diego, media companies, postproduction houses and service
 bureaus are making Anystream's Agility(TM) software the de facto standard for
 efficient, affordable streaming media encoding and distribution. Anystream
 today announced a roster of streaming clients around the globe using its
 automated encoding solution, and announced Agility Workgroup 1.5, with a host
 of features that enable deeper integration with professional video production
 and broadcast equipment.
     Clients naming Agility Workgroup as their encoding solution of choice
 include: Fox News (New York); RTL New Media, one of Germany's largest media
 companies based in Cologne; VTR, one of London's largest postproduction
 facilities; Clipstream, (London, a VTR division); BAY 6 Productions (Phoenix);
 Concept AV (Berlin); Gotham Pictures (New York); Frame by Frame (San Diego);
 Mindblazer (Charlotte, NC); Premier Studios (Lenexa, KS); Native Film und TV
 (Dortmund); Newstream.com, a BusinessWire/MediaLink venture (New York); and
 Techo Video and Film (Zurich).
     Anystream also unveiled its latest product, Agility Workgroup 1.5, at the
 National Association of Broadcasters trade show, currently underway. A
 primary capability of the new release is VTR Emulation, which enables
 broadcast industry professionals to control Agility Workgroup 1.5 from any
 professional video system via RS-422 protocol. This time-saving feature
 eliminates the need to print-to-tape or manipulate multiple digital files
 prior to encoding. Now, any professional video system can play back the video
 and Agility Workgroup 1.5 will 'frame-accurately' acquire the media in real
 time for encoding.
     Automated content acquisition is only the first of four key streaming
 media processes that Agility Workgroup 1.5 streamlines for video
 professionals. As with all Anystream products, the system also automatically
 applies the client's specified preprocessing profiles to the source media;
 encodes top-quality streams in as many formats, bit rates or frame resolutions
 as the client requires; and sends the final, pristine streams to the streaming
 server or destination of choice.
     Additionally, Agility Workgroup 1.5 offers the ability to add multiple
 Agility Workgroup encoders on the same local area network, the ability to
 create MPEG-2 DVD streams, and supports Apple Macintosh-based clients for job
 submission, monitoring and management.
     "Video production environments of all sizes are looking for the best way
 to produce streaming media more efficiently, and for the opportunity to create
 new revenue sources. The Agility Workgroup product line enables our clients to
 meet all of these objectives, via a technology-agnostic software platform that
 delivers so much output for so little incremental cost that our clients can
 afford to be creative with their extra processing power," said Samir Gulati,
 Anystream vice president, marketing.
     The Agility Workgroup product line also includes the recently announced
 Agility Workgroup SE, Anystream's affordable, entry-level product for video
 professionals of all sizes whose workflows use all-digital file input.
 Concurrently, Anystream launched a free downloadable trial of its Agility
 Workgroup SE software, currently available on the Anystream website
 (http://www.anystream.com ).
     All Agility Workgroup products have a built-in migration path that enables
 clients to move to the next level of software based on their production volume
 and workflow complexity. Clients also can migrate to Agility Enterprise, the
 company's customizable, scalable, mission-critical software platform installed
 in the world's most demanding production environments. And like all Anystream
 products, Agility Workgroup products are backed by the company's Agility
 Advantage global service and support programs.
