SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- APL Software, a pioneer in parallel computing, announced today it has raised $5.2 million dollars in funding from Accomplice Venture Capital, Wing Venture Capital, and co-founder Cheng Wu to empower customers a simple and revolutionary way to achieve parallel computing across commodity multi-core systems.

The founding team includes Cheng Wu, a successful serial entrepreneur, and Lawrence Ho, a technologist with strong experience in product engineering.
Cheng Wu founded numerous successful companies that included ArrowPoint Communications (successful IPO and subsequently acquired by Cisco Systems for $5.7B), Acopia (acquired by F5), Azuki (acquired by Ericsson), and Arris (acquired by Cascade).
Lawrence Ho holds 21 industry product awards and delivered market-leading products in parallel software and parallel computing, datacenter and security, networking, wireless broadband, and IoT (internet-of-things) from companies that included Echelon, DirecTV, Extreme Networks, Bell Labs, Argonne (DOE), and various startups. Lawrence has 25 R&D publications and patents, and received his Ph.D. from Yale University. He helped build the first massively parallel computer based on commodity processors and was awarded the AAAS William D. Carey Award for parallel computing.
APL Software will use its seed investment to grow its team, build out its product solution, and grow its customer base.
