Remittance Processing Veteran Chairs the Texas Chapter of The Association For

Work Process Improvement (TAWPI)

    DALLAS, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- BancTec, Inc. today announced that
 remittance processing industry veteran John Black has joined the company as
 director of product strategy for retail solutions.  He is in charge of
 defining the strategy and future enhancements of BancTec's popular PayCourier
 Retail next-generation payment processing software platform.
     Black is well known in the industry for his involvement in The Association
 for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI).  A recipient of the Distinguished
 Service Award from TAWPI's membership, he is the current chairman of the State
 of Texas TAWPI chapter and a former chairman of TAWPI's national board of
 directors.

     Black comes to BancTec from Wausau Financial Systems, where he served as a
 senior consultant to their customers on productivity, efficiency and cost
 analysis issues.  Before Wausau, he was instrumental in the implementation of
 a wide variety of payment processing solutions at SBC Communications.  During
 his 17 years at Southwestern Bell, Black provided staff and product support to
 remittance centers processing more than 18 million payments per month, and he
 coordinated the consolidation of eight Southwestern Bell remittance centers
 into two efficient centers.  He also coordinated the implementation of a
 comprehensive, high-speed image processing program that included archive
 modules and OPEX IEM interfaces.
     Black has a bachelor's degree in management information services from
 Maryville University in St. Louis.  He has been a member of the NACHA
 Electronic Check Council and has served on the Association for Finance
 Professionals (formerly TMA) task force on the revision to their RFPs for
 lockbox proposals.  Black resides in Plano, Texas, with and his wife, Robyn,
 and their two children.
