Bank of America's DC President to Chair Maryland Chamber of Commerce; Annual Meeting to Also Honor Marriott, Constellation Energy Chairmen

    ANNAPOLIS, Md., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- William D. Couper, President of
 Bank of America, Greater Washington, will be named Chairman of the Maryland
 Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber's Annual Membership Meeting and Business
 Hall of Fame Dinner to be held Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m.  The event will be
 held at the Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore.  News media are invited
 to attend, with registration requested.
     Couper, who most recently served as the President of the Baltimore region
 for Bank of America before being transferred to Washington, has held the
 office of Vice Chairman since last May.  Arthur Ebersberger of
 CBIZ/Ebersberger Insurance Benefits and Services has served as Chairman of the
 Maryland Chamber since 1999.  Two consecutive year terms are allowed by the
 Chamber's bylaws.
     Also to be featured at the dinner will be the induction of J.W. Marriott,
 Jr., Chairman of Marriott International, Inc. and Christian Poindexter,
 Chairman of Constellation Energy Group (formerly BGE) into the Chamber's
 Business Hall of Fame. Photo opportunities and bios will be available after
 the induction ceremony.
     Several hundred business leaders from throughout the State will attend the
 annual event, including John Derrick, Immediate Past Chairman of the Maryland
 Chamber and current Chairman of the Greater Washington Board of Trade.
     Other officer and Board elections will be announced at the dinner.
 
     The Maryland Chamber is the only statewide coalition of businesses in
 Maryland and represents nearly 1,000 businesses that employ 500,000 people.
 Its mission is to promote and protect the interests of its members to the
 benefit of the citizens of Maryland.
