Boise Cascade Elects Executive Officers

    BOISE, Idaho, April 20 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- Boise
 Cascade Corp. (NYSE:   BCC) today announced the election of two executive
 officers.
     Nick Stokes has been elected vice president, operations, Building
 Materials Distribution Division.  Stokes joined Boise Cascade in 1979 as a
 management trainee at the division's Salt Lake City, Utah, branch and
 subsequently held several different sales and managerial positions there.  In
 1991, he became sales and marketing manager for the Building Materials
 Distribution Division.  He was named West Region operations manager in
 1998 and division operations manager in February 2001.  Stokes holds
 bachelor's degrees in management and marketing from the University of Utah.
     John A. Berilla will join Boise Cascade as vice president, human
 resources.  Prior to joining Boise Cascade, Berilla was corporate director,
 employee relations, for Lear Corp. from 1997 to 2001.  He also served as
 corporate director, human resources, for ITT Industries from 1992 to 1997, as
 a labor management consultant from 1988 to 1992, and in various human
 resources positions for Rayonier from 1970 to 1988.  Berilla holds a
 bachelor's degree in business and journalism from California State Polytechnic
 University.
