CHICAGO, Oct. 18, /PRNewswire/ -- The Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago (BOMA/Chicago) announced today that it has appointed Edward M. Bury as director of marketing and communications, effective immediately. Bury brings more than 33 years of experience in marketing and communications to his new position.
As director of marketing and communications, Bury will manage all aspects of internal and external communication, including strengthening BOMA/Chicago's presence in the Chicagoland area, developing and growing partnerships with Chicago-based companies and non-profits, managing the organization's website and assisting with planning efforts for various educational and networking events for Building and Affiliate Members throughout the year.

For the past 12 years, Bury has assumed increasing responsibility for public relations at the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute, a commercial real estate services, education, networking and technology association. Most recently, as senior director of public relations, Bury executed both external and internal public relations and marketing programs to promote CCIM's mission and initiatives to its leadership, membership and staff, as well as the general public. While at CCIM, Bury managed the re- launch of the organization's website, coordinated participation in more than 50 industry trade events and supervised the production and distribution of the Institute's quarterly national commercial real estate market report. Before joining CCIM in 1998, Bury was a vice president at Schindler Communication and held varying positions at numerous public relations agencies in the Chicago area.
Bury graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He is one of 5,000 public relations professionals to hold the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential and currently serves on the board of directors at the Chicago Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and the Universal Accreditation Board.
Now in its 108th year and the oldest BOMA Association in the world, BOMA/Chicago represents the interests of the people and companies that own, operate, manage and service Chicago's commercial buildings.
