Brach's Is *NSYNC With Its New 'Hot Hits' Fruit Snacks

    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Brach's Confections, Inc.
 announces that it is introducing a new fruit snacks brand featuring *NSYNC.
 The new fruit snacks product will be marketed under the "Hot Hits" name and
 will be in stores beginning April 2001.

     *NSYNC is merely one of the hottest music groups of all-time.  *NSYNC's
 latest album, "No Strings Attached," set the all-time music industry record by
 selling 2.4 million copies in its first week.  The Brach's/*NSYNC Fruit Snacks
 will hit retail shelves just in advance of *NSYNC's upcoming album to be
 released in May 2001.
     For the first time ever in the fruit snacks category, Brach's will feature
 a musical group on fruit snacks packaging -- *NSYNC.  For its new "Hot Hits"
 brand, Brach's plans to feature other popular musical and entertainment
 personalities in the future.
     "We can't wait to see how consumers respond to *NSYNC being in the fruit
 snacks aisle," said Peter Goldman, Brach's senior marketing manager.  "We
 think we have a fantastic hit that will draw new users into the category."
     Brach's has created added excitement by packaging inside every box of
 *NSYNC Fruit Snacks a collectible replica backstage pass.  There will be six
 different laminated passes, with each of the five band members being featured
 and a sixth pass with all group members represented.  The fruit snacks shapes
 themselves will feature musical icons, including the *NSYNC logo, and special
 juice-filled hearts that include one band member's name on each heart.

 about getting exposure for the band in all of the Brach's retailers throughout

     Brach's will feature *NSYNC Fruit Snacks in upcoming print advertising,
 including a national FSI in June 2001.  Brach's is also considering a
 television campaign after the product's introductory period.  The Brach's "Hot
 Hits" fruit snacks will be sold eight pouches per box with a suggested retail
 price of $2.49 per box.
