Breakaway Solutions Announces Ticker Symbol Change to Reflect Nasdaq Requirements

Apr 19, 2001, 01:00 ET from Breakaway Solutions, Inc.

PHILADELPHIA, April 19 /PRNewswire/ --Breakaway Solutions, Inc.
(Nasdaq: BWAY), a leading Full Service Provider (FSP) of integrated strategy,
implementation and application hosting solutions for collaborative
ebusinesses, today announced it received correspondence from the listing
department of the Nasdaq Stock Market that, commencing upon the opening of
trading on April 20, 2001, the ticker symbol for the Company's common stock
 will be changed to BWAYE.
The additional fifth character was added to reflect the Company's decision
to delay the filing of its annual report on Form 10-K for the period ended
December 31, 2000 due to management changes which include a newly appointed
CEO and Chairman for the Company, and a recent closing of financing. This
Nasdaq determination was based upon Marketplace Rule 4310(c)(14), which
requires timely filing of all annual and quarterly SEC reports.
The Company anticipates that this temporary ticker symbol will be
rescinded after its filing of the Form 10-K.
