BroadRiver Communications Selects InfoVista Network Performance Management Solution

InfoVista Solution Chosen to Monitor Performance of National Voice and

Data Services Network

Apr 18, 2001, 01:00 ET from InfoVista

COLUMBIA, Md., April 18 /PRNewswire/ --InfoVista (Nasdaq: IVTA - Nouveau
Marche: 7667), a global provider of advanced software which monitors, analyzes
and reports on the performance, availability and quality of service of
Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI), today announced that it has been
selected as the IT infrastructure monitoring and management provider of choice
for BroadRiver Communications, a new integrated communications provider (ICP)
offering a full range of managed data and voice services for small- to medium-
 sized businesses.
"BroadRiver Communications is taking the first steps towards true
convergence of the traditional voice and data networks and we have had great
success in that movement," said Richard Batelaan, Chief Operations Officer of
BroadRiver Communications. "With that success, however, comes growth. A
growth that puts greater demands on our infrastructure, staff and processes.
InfoVista's scalability, flexibility and adaptability are best suited to help
us meet those challenges. In addition, InfoVista demonstrated the desire to
truly partner with us when they allowed our Network Operations staff to take
their product for a very generous test-drive. They patiently afforded us the
opportunity to validate, at our own pace and without intrusion, those very
factors which make the product strong."
BroadRiver will use InfoVista's network management technology as its
core-reporting component for performance, capacity and Service Level
Management (SLM) across its network, which is operational in the Atlanta,
Orlando and Nashville markets and interconnected with multiple carriers and
 ILECs.
In addition, InfoVista products will be used with BroadRiver's inventory
and relationship management systems, giving these systems the ability to
correlate network component failures, communicate these failures to customers
and decrease network downtime-ultimately ensuring optimal customer service.
"BroadRiver was looking for a scalable and flexible product with an open
architecture that would easily integrate with its current system," said
Anthony Vidal, Chief Operating Officer, InfoVista. "Our product was a perfect
fit, allowing BroadRiver to offer a quick and cost effective solution to its
 customers."
