SAN ANTONIO, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- Rackspace Managed Hosting, a leading provider of managed Internet hosting services, today announced a marketing agreement with BT Wholesale, part of the United Kingdom's telecommunications giant, to deliver managed hosting services to its wholesale customers. The agreement allows service providers in the UK to purchase managed servers and solutions from Rackspace through a co-branded configurator on the BT Wholesale Web site (www.btwholesale.com), as well as via BT Wholesale sales representatives. BT Wholesale, which operates as a fully independent business unit of the BT Group, is considered the market leader in helping operators break into the European telecommunications and data services market. Created in 1982 and with more than 30,000 employees in the UK, the company provides world-class products and services to other operators. The agreement with BT Wholesale is an illustration of Rackspace's initiative to expand its channel marketing program by selling directly to other service providers. BT Wholesale currently has over 500 customers ranging from well-established players (fixed, mobile and cable operators) to an increasing number of emerging operators (resellers, service providers and ISPs). "We have researched the field of managed hosting thoroughly," says Steve Haines, director of BT Wholesale Marketing. "We believe that no other managed hosting provider in the world can offer our Wholesale customers the level of service and support that Rackspace can." "BT Wholesale's decision to enter this relationship is another validation of Rackspace's product and services," said Morris Miller, managing director and co-chairman of Rackspace Managed Hosting. "They are one of the world's most successful telecommunications providers, and we anticipate a mutually beneficial relationship that will keep both companies focused on providing unparalleled service to the customer." Rackspace is a pioneer in the field of managed hosting and has earned a reputation for speed, flexibility and its own unique brand of 24 x 7 fanatical customer support. With more than 3,100 servers currently under management, Rackspace leads the industry in customer satisfaction and its ability to get servers online quickly.
