TORONTO, April 25 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- The Bulldog
Group Inc. and Convera (Nasdaq: CNVR) today announced that Convera's
RetrievalWare(R) intelligent search technology has been integrated with
Bulldog's leading digital asset management software, Bulldog Two.Seven. In
addition, Bulldog and Convera have formed a new partnership, establishing
Bulldog as a worldwide reseller of the RetrievalWare(R) product, and providing
customers one point of contact to purchase this powerful integrated solution.
The joint initiative provides customers with an information-rich content
management and delivery solution that streamlines processes by enabling users
to more quickly and accurately access and re-purpose digital media content.
Bulldog software provides customers with a platform for ingesting,
managing, tracking, reporting, and distributing digital content of any kind
through multiple channels of delivery including Internet, broadband, and
wireless technologies. The integration with Convera's powerful RetrievalWare
search technology enhances Bulldog's Search Extender architecture to provide
sophisticated concept-based searching for over 250 document type assets.
"Companies are counting on the close collaboration of technology vendors
to provide secure, flexible solutions that support their digital content
initiatives," says Chris Strachan, CEO of The Bulldog Group. "The combined
core infrastructure technologies of Bulldog and Convera support collaboration
across the enterprise and maximize returns on the value of assets for our
 customers."
With the seamless integration, RetrievalWare will automatically index
document type assets at the point of registration into Bulldog. Once the
assets are indexed, the content becomes fully searchable within the Bulldog
native interface. Users can perform intelligent text queries based on pattern
matching, word concepts or meanings via RetrievalWare's robust semantic
network, as well as complex Boolean queries. Furthermore, users will be able
to combine the advanced text search criteria with Bulldog's metadata criteria
 for enhanced precision and recall.
By extending the functionality of Bulldog's metadata and media data search
capabilities to allow users to also search the contents of text documents
within Bulldog, the Bulldog/Convera partnership enables customers to find what
they need more quickly and effectively, ultimately enabling them to extract
 optimum value from their content.
"RetrievalWare allows users to search across the text associated with
their digitized assets using natural language queries and advanced
computational linguistics," says Pat Condo, president and CEO, Convera. "The
combination of Bulldog's powerful content management and distribution features
and RetrievalWare's intelligent searching capabilities enables users to easily
manage and search across extensive collections of multimedia content stored in
 any location around the world."
The Bulldog/Convera partnership agreement anticipates exciting
cross-training and selling opportunities for both companies. Capitalizing on
Bulldog's global distribution channels, the companies will continue to expand
their presence in the media, entertainment, broadcast and corporate markets.
The integrated product is available immediately with Bulldog's latest software
release, Bulldog Two.Seven, through Bulldog's worldwide distribution network.
The product is also available for demonstration in both Bulldog's and
 Convera's demo centers worldwide.
