Caldera Selects Rainmaker to Drive Revenue From Contract Renewals

 Rainmaker Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:   RMKR) a leading outsource provider of
 Internet-enabled sales and marketing services, today announced it has been
 chosen by Caldera International, Inc. (Nasdaq:   CALD) to sell and renew
 maintenance and support contracts for their award winning UNIX and Linux
 product lines. Caldera, the world's largest Linux company, has selected
 Rainmaker's Contract Renewals PlusSM (CRP) service to cost-effectively drive
 contracts revenue from their North American customer base. The value of the
 contracts being renewed range from $500 - $50,000 each.
     The agreement with Caldera includes two CRP services for both maintenance
 and support contracts -- Renewal and Attach. Rainmaker's Renewal service
 targets existing customers to renew their contracts. The Attach service
 focuses on getting new customers to purchase contracts in conjunction with
 their initial investment of Caldera software.
     Rainmaker will serve as a transparent bridge between Caldera and its
 customers. Using the Caldera brand, Rainmaker will deliver comprehensive sales
 and marketing services that utilize the Web, direct mail, telephone, email and
