Candide Media Appoints Design Director

Apr 23, 2001, 01:00 ET from Candide Media, Inc.

NEW YORK, April 23 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- Candide Media,
Inc. today announced the appointment of Shannon Shelly as design director. Her
role within the company will be to ensure high-quality design direction across
Candide's increasingly diverse range of online productions.
Shelly's appointment coincides with a rapid expansion in Candide's client
list. The New York-based company produces companion Web sites and online event
coverage for such media-industry clients as PBS, Discovery Channel Online and
 Lifetime TV.
"Shannon was the ideal candidate and she arrived at the ideal time," said
Paul Fraser, Candide's CEO. "She's done a wide variety of work, for an even
wider variety of major brands." Shelly's portfolio includes logo design,
corporate branding, print media, Web design and corporate-film art direction.
Shelly began her career at CKS in San Francisco, where she designed Web
sites and print materials for MCI, Visa, Pacific Bell, Transamerica and Apple.
Her work has won several industry awards, most notably for her logo design for
Pixar Animation Studios. Later, as design director at the New York consulting
company Siegel & Gale, she expanded her repertoire of skills by art directing
two corporate films, one for American Express and the other for Bayer.
Shelly will be an immediate contributor to Candide's growth plans. The
company has been bucking industry trends in recent months. In addition to
doubling its physical office space, Candide has increased its client list as
many media companies reduce their own online departments.
According to Fraser, Candide's increased capacity makes leadership in the
design department essential. Shelly will work with producers on new and
ongoing productions to ensure that design conforms both to Candide's aesthetic
and to each client's particular needs.
Immediately before joining Candide, Shelly ran her own freelance design
business. Clients included Louis Boston, the exclusive Boston-area men's
clothier and Trademine, an online financial institution. Shelly holds a BFA
in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
