Catalina Marketing Forms Nationwide Agreement with Albertson's, Inc.

 Catalina Marketing Corporation (NYSE:   POS) announced today that
 Albertson's, Inc. (NYSE:   ABS) will expand the Catalina Marketing Network(R)
 into all of its food divisions, increasing the reach of the Network by more
 than 870 stores.  Albertson's currently has the Catalina Marketing Network
 installed in its Albertson's, Jewel, and Acme stores located in California,
 Nevada, Illinois and Philadelphia.

 installations.  This technology allows Albertson's to target our customers on
 an individual and market basket level with special retail programs," said Pam

 technology to target and communicate with consumers at supermarket checkouts
 based on purchase behavior.  Communication ranges from sampling, advertising,
 couponing and loyalty programs depending on retailer or brand's objectives.
 On average, redemption rates reach almost 9 percent, about six times higher
 than traditional print-delivered couponing methods.
