SAN FRANCISCO, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- CBS MarketWatch.com is turning
itself blue in conjunction with this week's launch of the BlueLight Special at
Kmart stores nationwide and online at BlueLight.com.
Utilizing cutting edge "rich media" technology,
MarketWatch.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKTW), the Internet's leading source of
financial news and information, will turn its CBS MarketWatch.com home page
blue every time a user enters the site. This "blue wash" is followed by
synchronized flash creative in two coordinated advertising slots. The flash
animations, developed by TBWA Chiat Day, focus on Kmart's new BlueLight
Special and work together seamlessly with the blue wash effect.
"This blue wash concept is a first for both Kmart and MarketWatch.com,"
said Scot McLernon, MarketWatch.com Executive Vice President of Advertising
Sales. "State-of-the-art ad formats featured in this program are a powerful
example of where online advertising is going. Our site re-design, launched in
February, supports these exciting new ad elements that will make a huge
difference in reaching audiences for the consumer and packaged goods
 industries."
He continued: "Dayparts advertising provides our clients with a targeted,
more consistent presence in front of their consumers. This technique was
designed to provide traditional companies with a more potent online marketing
solution. Our new 'High Impact Impressions' program allows advertisers to
select optimal days and times when their consumers are most likely to be using
or thinking about their products. Then, the rich media creative fully
 leverages the impact."
The Kmart BlueLight Special campaign will include an array of pioneering
advertising formats that are part of MarketWatch.com's newly unveiled
 "Innovative Solutions" program.
