LORTON, Va., Aug. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Chenega International Consulting, in partnership with Ulster University, announced the launch of a new academic course on Open Source Evidential Exploitation (OSEEC). The investigative 3-day short course hosted at Ulster University, will offer students a chance to understand the power of open-source media gathering, analysis, and practical training. The first session is scheduled to begin Monday August 8th at the Belfast Campus. Registration opens to all prospective students on Monday 18th July 2016. Successful students will be awarded an OSEEC certificate of completion and academic credit (15 credits, level 4) from Ulster University. Further courses will be provided to meet demand and flexible to student's requirements.
OSEEC is defined as collecting, processing, refining, and exploiting multiple sources of information from publicly available digital media to an appropriate audience, for the purpose of a specific investigative requirement. Exploitation technology and software produces real-time streaming, trends, leaderboards, influencers, visuals and reports. OSEEC has been designed to give students investigative resources and advanced research techniques.
The course will be comprised of IT focused classroom presentations delivered by several guest Subject Matter Experts. Primary teaching methods include the use of didactic lessons and group work. The course is designed to benefit those in professions who are looking to use social media to collect and analyse data, including but not limited to: law enforcement, government, banking, and financial sectors, risk/due diligence, cyber security, community planning, law students, and SME managers.
