Clapper Joins SRA as Director of Intelligence Programs for C3I

    FAIRFAX, Va., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- James R. Clapper, Jr. has joined SRA
 International, Inc. as director of intelligence programs in the command,
 control, communications, and intelligence (C3I) business area.  He will be
 responsible for directing and growing SRA's business in the intelligence
 community.
     According to SRA vice president Anthony M. Valletta, "Jim is an
 outstanding leader who is highly respected within the intelligence community.
 He brings a wealth of experience to the leadership of SRA's federal sector
 business and will help us accelerate our growth in that marketplace."
     Before joining SRA, Clapper served as executive director of military
 intelligence programs at Booz Allen & Hamilton.  In this position, he led a
 business area with approximately $12 million in annual revenue and a staff of
 100, concentrating in the defense intelligence and service intelligence
 markets.
     In September 1995, Clapper retired as a Lieutenant General after a 32-year
 career in the Air Force.  His last assignment was as director of the Defense
 Intelligence Agency.  Prior assignments included chief of Air Force
 intelligence, and director of intelligence for three war-fighting commands.
 He has served as consultant for the House Intelligence Committee, the Defense
 Airborne Reconnaissance Office, and the Defense Science Board.  He is a member
 of the National Security Agency Scientific Advisory Board, teaches as an
 adjunct professor at the Joint Military College, and is a regular guest
 lecturer at the Armed Forces Staff College.
     Recently, Clapper was elected president of the Security Affairs Support
 Association and has served on the intelligence committee of the Armed Forces
 Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the National Military
 Intelligence Association board of directors, and the board of directors of the
 Joint Military Intelligence College Foundation.  The Secretary of Defense
 recently appointed him to serve on a blue ribbon Threat Reduction Advisory
 Committee; he chairs its intelligence panel.
     He received a B.A. degree from the University of Maryland and an M.A.
 degree from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, Texas, both in political
 science, and an Honorary Doctorate in strategic intelligence from the Joint
 Military Intelligence College.
