Processing Engine

AUSTIN, Texas, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- ClearCommerce Corp., a provider of
transaction management and fraud protection software for e-commerce
infrastructure, today announced it is offering the ClearCommerce Engine 4.0
for the Microsoft Windows 2000 platform.
Return on investment scenarios indicate that there are significant cost
savings for enterprise merchants and commerce service providers (CSPs) using
the ClearCommerce Engine in-house over those that outsource their transaction
services to service bureaus. The ClearCommerce Engine is sold to merchants
with no additional processing fees, while service bureaus charge merchants for
 each transaction made.
With the ClearCommerce(R) Engine 4.0, merchants on the Microsoft Windows
2000 platform have complete control over their transaction data because all
information resides behind the merchant's firewall. Features of version 4.0
include an improved user interface and additional reporting capabilities.
"Now that the ClearCommerce Engine is compatible with the Windows 2000
platform, our reliable and scalable Internet transaction processing software
is accessible to an even larger segment of the online retailing community,"
said Robert J. Lynch, chief executive officer of ClearCommerce.
"The Windows 2000 platform and ClearCommerce Engine combined provide the
flexibility, security and transaction processing convenience that e-merchants
require," said Phil Osborn, Senior Product Manager, Windows 2000 Server at
Microsoft Corp. "This is another example of how Microsoft and software
manufacturers like ClearCommerce together are providing businesses with great
ways to connect with consumers and provide the best end-customer experience."
Microsoft uses The ClearCommerce Engine to process transactions online
 through Microsoft bCentral.com and MSN.
The ClearCommerce Engine capabilities include: real-time transaction
processing with credit card processors, fraud analysis and protection,
business reports for merchants, shipping and tax calculation, application
programming interfaces (APIs) to businesses' existing enterprise resource
 planning or inventory systems.
