Apr 20, 2001, 01:00 ET from Computer Associates International, Inc.

    ISLANDIA, N.Y., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Associates
International, Inc. (CA) today announced that Unicenter TNG, its flagship
enterprise management solution for eBusiness, and ARCserve 2000, its
industry-leading enterprise storage solution, have received Network Magazine's
prestigious Product of the Year Awards.
Presented annually to products and services for both the enterprise and
the new public network, Network Magazine's Product of the Year Awards are
among the most sought-after accolades in the networking industry. The editors
of Network Magazine selected Unicenter TNG as the "Management Platform of the
Year" and ARCserve 2000 as the "Storage Management Solution of the Year" based
upon their broad appeal to the publication's reader base, their competitive
advantages, price/performance, technical ingenuity, new features and
applications, and serviceability to the market. CA was the only software
company to have two products selected for this prestigious award.
"CA's strength in infrastructure management is evidenced by the top honors
the company received in two critical areas -- systems and network management
and storage management," stated Steve Steinke, Network Magazine's
editor-in-chief. "CA continues to provide IT organizations with the
comprehensive solutions they need to grow their business."
The 2001 Product of the Year categories reflect the rapid changes taking
place in networking technology. The categories this year are focused on
product areas essential to today's networking professionals, including
security, servers, network hardware, wireless equipment, enterprise management
software, troubleshooting tools and outsourced services. To qualify for
Product of the Year consideration, each qualifying product had to ship during
 calendar year 2000.
"The combination of critical acclaim achieved by Unicenter TNG and
ARCserve clearly demonstrates that, when it comes to eBusiness infrastructure
management, CA possesses both superior vision and a superior ability to
deliver on that vision," said Tarkan Maner, vice president, corporate
marketing, CA. "The fact that both products continue to sustain their
leadership positions over many years confirms that customers also believe that
CA's management solutions out-perform and out-class the competition."
A special awards ceremony recognizing this year's winners will be held
May 9 during Network+Interop 2001 in Las Vegas.
