NEW YORK, Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, August 7, the Coney Island Brewing Company celebrated an official ribbon cutting for its brewery on Surf Avenue in the heart of Coney Island. The celebration was marked by the attendance of Deputy Borough President for Brooklyn Diana Reyna and New York Assemblyperson Rodneyse Bichotte, as well as the presence of stilt walkers, sword swallowers and snake charmers, because this is Coney Island, after all. The festivities took place on Friday, in advance of the grand opening, which will take place on Labor Day Weekend.
Coney Island Brewery will make a welcome and lively addition to the Coney Island scene, where authenticity, fun and a touch of the unexpected meet. After Hurricane Sandy wiped out Coney Island's original brewery, which locals fondly referred to as the "World's Smallest Brewery", it was important for the company to reopen in the place that started it all, and to capture the spirit, flavor and romance that is Coney Island. All of the beers served onsite will be brewed onsite, and guests can enjoy the beers inside the intimate 1,500-square foot space, or outside in the beer garden that fronts Surf Ave.
"We are grateful for the support of some of New York's finest, who joined us to unveil the new Coney Island Brewery," said Chris Adams, master of ceremonies for Coney Island Brewing Company. "We are thrilled to have a physical space in the heart of Coney to brew, drink and share new beers and toast to all of the fun and revelry that Coney Island has to offer."
