Cooper Industries Adds New Members to Corporate Marketing Team

    HOUSTON, April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper Industries, Inc. (NYSE:   CBE), a
 leading manufacturer of electrical products and tools, today named Timothy P.
 Rooney, Larry K. Woolums and Joe A. Fox to three newly-created regional vice
 president positions in its corporate marketing organization.  They will report
 to John P. Peterson, vice president, Marketing.
     Closely collaborating with Cooper divisional sales management, the new
 vice presidents will have regional responsibility for coordinating Cooper
 Industries' overall marketing and sales strategy for supporting both
 electrical distributors and manufacturers representatives to drive top line
 growth.  Additionally, these positions will coordinate Cooper Connection
 regional sales activities for the five Cooper divisions participating in the
 Company's distributor relationship program.
     Together, these Cooper divisions offer distributor and end-user customers
 one of the industry's most comprehensive lines of electrical products.  Cooper
 B-Line provides structural support systems and electrical, electronic and
 telecommunications enclosures; Cooper Bussmann manufactures overcurrent
 protection products; Cooper Crouse-Hinds offers electrical construction
 materials and hazardous duty explosion-proof equipment; Cooper Lighting
 produces lighting fixtures for indoor and outdoor use; and Cooper Wiring
 Devices makes residential, commercial and industrial wiring devices.
     Mr. Rooney, vice president, eastern region, has been director, distributor
 marketing at Cooper since December 2000, and has been instrumental in the
 successful launch of the Cooper Connection program.  He was previously vice
 president -- central region for Cooper Crouse-Hinds.
     Mr. Woolums was most recently regional sales manager for Cooper Bussmann
 in Chicago.  Mr. Woolums will be vice president, central region.  Since
 joining Cooper Bussmann in 1988, Mr. Woolums has held a series of increasingly
 responsible positions in sales and marketing management.
     Mr. Fox was serving as area vice president, western region for Cooper
 Lighting, based in Los Angeles.  He joined Cooper Lighting in 1995, having
 previously served in sales and marketing management roles at Hubbell Lighting
 and Westinghouse.  Mr. Fox will be vice president, western region.
