Cudd Arrives on South Louisiana Blowout Within Hours

    HOUSTON, April 24 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ -- On April 19,
 2001, Cudd Pressure Control, Inc. responded to an explosion that occurred
 during a workover operation 10 miles outside New Iberia, Louisiana.  Cudd Well
 Control's Project Management Team, headed up by senior well control
 specialists David Thompson and Steve Burrow from Houston, Texas and senior
 well control specialist Doug Finley from Oklahoma City, mobilized with
 complete fire fighting equipment packages from locations in Houston and
 Lafayette, Louisiana.  Cudd Well Control was on location shortly after
 midnight approximately six hours after the incident occurred.
     Cudd professionals quickly assessed the situation and determined that a
 portable road and staging area were required.  Initial efforts have been
 directed at cooling the explosion site as well as protecting the environment
 surrounding the area.  It is estimated that the operation will take four to
 five days to complete.
