ATLANTA, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Customers now can purchase any Delta Air
Lines (NYSE: DAL) fare -- including the airline's new spring sale fare
announced today -- through their U.S.-based travel agents and know they are
finding the best-priced travel option. Travel agents using a newly released
online booking tool at Delta's travel agent-only Web site
(delta.com/travelagent ), the Online Agency Service Center, can more fully
serve their clients by offering fares and discounts formerly available only
 through Delta's Web site.
"We recognize that a large segment of the public prefers to arrange travel
through a travel agent. We also are sensitive to those who may not otherwise
have Internet access," said Bob Gallagher -- general manager -- Agency
Programs. "Now, these customers also can benefit from Delta's deeply
discounted Web-only fares and earn bonus miles through the traditional booking
channel of their choice their travel agent."
This new travel agent booking capability -- a product of Delta's Sales &
Distribution, e-Business, and Delta Technology units -- is a direct result of
travel agents' requests for access to Web fares for their clients and
complements the comprehensive, easily searchable online travel agency
reference center on Delta's Web site.
In addition to the spring sale fare announced today, fares available via
the Delta travel agent site include published fares, Web Fares, Fan Fares and
other Web-only special offers. Delta is one of the first major airlines to
offer travel agents direct online booking with access to Web-only fares.
