    IRVINE, Calif., April 20 /PRNewswire Interactive News Release/ --
D-Link, the leading designer and true manufacturer of networking, data
communications and digital electronic technologies for the Digital Home, Small
to Medium Business (SMB) and Workgroup to Enterprise environments, announced
today the addition of a print server feature to the award winning D-Link
DI-713P Wireless Broadband Router & Access Point+ 3-Port Switch. In addition
to being the easiest and most secure way to share high-speed DSL/Cable
Internet access over a Wireless LAN, the D-Link DI-713P will now allow users
more protection with stateful packet inspection and the added ability to share
a single printer by acting as a print server, eliminating the need to dedicate
a PC as the print server. D-Link's wireless router is ideal for the Digital
Home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and Small to Medium Business (SMB),
where reliability, affordability, and mobility are extremely important.

The D-Link DI-713P provides a high performance wireless solution for
connecting PC's to share High-Speed DSL/Cable Modem Internet connections with
the added security and protection of a hardware firewall that protects all
PC's from outside Intruders. It employs a stateful packet inspection feature
that remembers the status of a connection then analyzes individual data
packets, as well as, the packet payload as they pass through the router. The
DI-713P wireless router can also make access decisions based on the source,
destination and service requested by the packet. With this information
available to it, the D-Link DI-713P is able to make a more informed policy
 decision than other routers.
The D-Link DI-713P also has an integrated wireless router, which acts as a
DHCP Server to allow shared Internet access for up to 252 Clients. The
built-in access point delivers high speed 11Mbps Wireless LAN Connection Using
Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) that is fully Interoperable with all
IEEE 802.11b Compliant Devices, while the three (3) built-in 10/100Mb
Auto-Negotiation full duplex Fast Ethernet Switch ports increase access time
for client computers. Plus the D-Link DI-713P now comes equipped with a
bi-directional LPT port to support a direct printer connection.
"The addition of a print server feature to the already award winning
wireless router along with the reduced price, emphasizes D-Link's commitment
to bringing the best possible product to the end user at the most affordable
price point," said Steven Joe President of D-Link. "Now, for a lower cost you
can share a printer as well as Internet Access."
Delivering two levels of protection, the D-Link DI-713P firewall function
allows users to block and redirect ports as well as mask local IP Addresses on
the Internet. The masking of local users' IP Addresses from others on the
Internet makes targeting a specific machine on the network much more
difficult. It blocks and redirects specific ports to limit the services that
outside users can access, while providing the freedom to open specific ports
in order to ensure that specific Internet applications and games will run
 properly.
In addition to security, the D-Link DI-713P provides an IEEE 802.11b
compliant access point. The Access Point creates an infrastructure for the
network and extends the reach of the network communications capabilities.
Strict adherence to the most advanced IEEE networking standard for wireless
connections makes the D-Link wireless router completely interoperable with
multi-vendor environments that also meet the standard compliance for IEEE
 802.11b.
The D-Link DI-713P Wireless Router with print server has a convenient
feature rich, web based configuration utility to give the ISP the ability to
remotely assist the user and trouble shoot the configuration. The D-Link
DI-713P has a MAC clone feature that allows users to stipulate a Network
Interface Card (NIC) MAC address. The D-Link DI-713P's ability to clone a MAC
address eliminates the problems with a DSL/Cable modem being tied to a NIC and
having to purge the modem's memory to get it to recognize a new MAC address.
The D-Link DI-713P has an extensive Virtual Server (VS) function that
enables users to input ports in a specific configuration for specific networks
needs. Many standard VS settings are already included for handling Web, SNMP,
FTP and more. Having automatic VS settings for the most popular services
pre-configured makes the D-Link DI-713P easy to use and setup.

     Wireless Access Point
The built-in Access Point is an IEEE 802.11b compliant 11 Megabits per
second (Mbps) Ethernet Wireless Access Point. Once activated with the
network, it provides Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) operation for
wireless networks delivering transparent bridging and roaming capabilities.
The Access Point function provides connections that build Infrastructure for
the network or extends the reach of the network commutations capability. It
enables full mobility and seamless roaming from cell to cell. The range of
coverage per cell for indoor use is up to 300 feet and up to 900 feet per cell
 for outdoor use.
On a dynamic network connection, the D-Link Access Point will
automatically obtain an IP address and forward additional IP's to multiple
clients on the network. The bandwidth data transmission rate can be set
manually or it can be set on dynamic Auto-Negotiation configuration. It is
very compatible with multi-vendor environments that also meet the standards
 compliance for the IEEE 802.11b.

     Three (3) Switch Ports
The three (3) ports are IEEE 802.3 compliant 10/100Mb Auto-Negotiation
Fast Ethernet Switch ports. The switch ports functionally eliminate
unnecessary traffic and relieve data congestion by delivering dedicated
bandwidth for each of the three ports. Auto-Negotiation automatically
determines the transmission speed of the device attached on each port. By
allowing simultaneous transmission and reception of data on the network, the
switch allows each user to run in full duplex and that translates into
 100 Megabits per second.

     Price and Availability
     The D-Link DI-713P Wireless Router & Access Point + 3-Port Switch with
integrated print server is available now through authorized retail, reseller,
and distribution partners at $299 Manufacture Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)
with a $246 Estimated Street Price (ESP).
